Alaska

Point Atkinson Lighthouse - headed out from Vancouver, British Columbia

Haida Totem Pole Carving - near Ketchikan, Alaska

Northwest Bound - leaving Ketchikan in our wake and headed to Juneau

Johns-Hopkins Glacier - Glacier Bay, Alaska.  View from about 800 yards out.

Glacier Bay - Last view before heading out into the Gulf of Alaska

Looking westward from the high bridge over Hurricane Gulch.
Measuring 296 feet above the gulch, for 8 years after it was built, it was the highest bridge in North America

Denali National Park.  Fall colors were in abundance along the Alaska Railroad.

Denali National Park - Majestic scenery in every direction.

Mount Denali -  from about 30 miles away.  Fortunately, the clouds which frequently cover the summit, had cleared away for a few hours.

Denali National Park - Black Spruce and Aspens against the snow-covered mountains

Neana Rail Depot.  Halfway from Denali to Fairbanks.
Just upriver from the site of the annual Neana Ice Classic

Even the trees have eyes!

Moose Antlers - These were over the post office at a fish camp near Fairbanks.
The antlers spanned nearly seven feet across.

Aurora Borealis - from Murphy Dome, about 30 miles northwest of Fairbanks.
The Big Dipper is visible just to the left of center in the photo..
