Storm Clouds over Taos Pueblo, August 2014
I saw a huge line of dark storm clouds approaching quickly and got this
shot while the Pueblo was still illuminated by the sun with the looming
storm in the background.

Adobe Church, Santa Fe, NM

Saw this picturesque Adobe Church near the Georgia O'Keeffe museum in Santa Fe,
a brief stop on our way to Philmont.

A female Osprey bringing nesting materials to her nest site in Virginia Beach. 
You can tell the female by the "necklace" of brown feathers around her neck. 
The male has a solid white breast. 
The Osprey can rotate their outer front talons rearward to aid in carrying fish.

OPSAIL 2012 is in full swing at Norfolk, VA. 
This is the Spanish Ship "JUAN SEBASTIAN DE ELCANO"
a 370 foot Topsail Schooner, one of the largest ships at OPSAIL.

Saw this view just before they put the exhaust covers on and thought it
would make a good, contrasty B&W shot.

Blue Angels



Blue Angel Number One sits on the ramp at
NAS Oceana at sunset, just after a rain.  You can see the reflection
of the brilliant orange sunset just under the canopy.

It had been raining all day and just as we arrived, the rain stopped and
the sunset appeared through a gap in the clouds.

Monument Valley Arizona - sunrise at about 0545. 
 Got the sun just as it was peeking through the narrow opening in the clouds. 
This was taken from the balcony at our hotel - "The View."

 


  


 





Summer Sunset - Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge



Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge - July Sunset.  This was taken near the Ranger Station
I just got there as the sun was about 10 degrees above the horizon.  Finally - a sunset with some
nice cloud formations!

 


  
 



Abandoned Lumber Mill - Cass, WV



This is the largest structure still standing (barely) of the West Virginia Pulp and Paper Company
in Cass, WV.  The mill was closed in 1960 and burned in 1982.
